About The Founder
My name is Cathryn Mukatimui Mundia, founder of Rosemary’s Center for Cancer Patients and Family Services, a Nonprofit Organization with Headquarters situated in the United States of America.
The Name of our Nonprofit is in Honor of my elder sister ROSEMARY MUNDIA DeBOER, who sadly succumbed to Cancer on January 16, 2020.
However, as life takes its course, in September of the same year 2020, I was diagnosed with cancer of the Esophagus. To God be the Glory, I am now in remission. The two most common types of Esophageal Cancer are Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Adenocarcinoma. I had the squamous type of cancer which affects the thin flat cells that line up the esophagus. This can form in any part of the esophagus, but it most often occurs in the upper to middle section which is located between the neck and the upper two-thirds of the chest. This occurs due to genetic mutations that cause the cells of the esophagus to grow and divide uncontrollably. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) also known as Acid Reflux, Smoking, and Alcohol have been discovered to be the three most common factors for developing this type of cancer. It’s my sincere desire to urge everyone reading this to please stay away from these two hazardous habits; alcohol intake and smoking.
After treatment of Chemotherapy and Radiation, I thank God for giving me a second chance to live my life. I am now able to pay it forward through the formation of this organization, by helping other Cancer patients and those under remission who are unable to pay for their medications with Financial Assistance.
Growing up, I have always had a strong desire to help those in need, especially children. Within our Organization, we have three Services, namely;
- Cancer Patients
- Orphans
- Infants and Mothers
With God on our side and the world out there full of people willing to lend a helping hand, both Financially and materially, it is an honor and a privilege that my Team and I will be able to meet our goals and obligations to serve this particular population.
I want to thank our Almighty God, my Family, Chisholm Law Firm, Donors, Sponsors, and the Business establishments at large, who have already granted permission to put our Donation Bins at their locations.
Finally, a big thank you to the Board of Directors and Volunteers alike. Thank you so much and may God bless everyone.
